Chapel Dulcinea was the very first thing we decided on after our engagement. We opted for a morning ceremony, but only because the afternoon and evenings were booked SO FAR in advance. The Chapel helped so much with our budget (since it's FREE), and it was easy to get our $100 deposit after the ceremony. We used the pavilion for our pre-ceremony beverages and also for a toast immediately following the ceremony. It was beautiful, and they set up the tables and chairs for us, too. There was a little communication mix-up with reserving the chairs, but it all worked out in the end. The chapel itself is amazing, and I'm so happy the weather and sunlight were perfect for us. We did have more guests than the chapel can hold, but it wasn't an issue to have some sitting inside and others standing around the pillars. The bride's changing room is clean and comfortable, too. We opted for a morning ceremony, but only because the afternoon and evenings were booked SO FAR in advance. We couldn't believe the beautiful view and atmosphere we had on our wedding day. I would highly recommend Chapel Dulcinea, especially for those having an intimate...

First of all, who doesn't love a free chapel? Second of all, I don't think I could have found a more lovely and charming little chapel for our small, destination wedding. It was truly magical. All of our guests were RAVING about the location and our family absolutely loved it. If you are looking for an intimate and beautiful setting for your big day, be sure to check out Chapel Dulcinea! It's stunning!!!!

We held our ceremony at the beautiful Chapel Dulcinea. It was great for our intimate gathering & the amount of guests that attended our ceremony. I highly suggest considering this chapel if you are planning a smaller ceremony guest list. We had about 25 people, and with the chairs that they let you rent and set up for you, it was just right. Our ceremony was held at sunset, and I think that is the best time to get married at this certain location because of the romantic ambiance the gas lamps created with the backdrop of the sunset over the hill country. The chapel sits on a cliff and looks out over a beautiful wooded area and the sunset. Needless to say, our pictures looked fantastic! I love the unique feature of this chapel-- once you get married, you get to ring the chapel's wedding bells to let everyone around know that someone has just been married! The chapel is just outside of Austin, which gives it a more private, secluded atmosphere for the ceremony, and then a short drive to the heart of Austin for the evenings celebration & reception. I would not change a thing, and I would recommend to all of my friends and future brides to at least take a trip to Chapel Dulcinea and give it some consideration. It is not great for a huge wedding, but for a smaller guest list, it is more than perfect. The staff was wonderful & helpful, the bridal room is great, and the facilities grounds were beautiful. If you want to get married here, I would definitely book it well in advance because they fill up pretty quickly. I forgot to mention the best part about this location.... IT IS FREE! :] which was very important to me because we didn't have much money to spend on the wedding, but I still wanted it to feel special, and the Chapel definitely made that happen! It was so beautiful and I tear up each time that I remember the wonderful gift they have given to me and countless others by providing such a beautiful place for couples to be married, and do not charge anything for it. They believe that it doesn't cost anything to fall in love, so it should not cost anything to celebrate that love during such a special occasion. I feel so lucky to have found this place, and I hope that others can enjoy it as much as I...

The outdoor chapel is beautiful. You can't beat the spectacular view of the hill country. It rained that day, which they say is good luck, but when you have an outdoor wedding, you don't feel very lucky at the time. But all in all, it was a beautiful and memorable ceremony.

Wayne and I were married at Chapel Dulcinea on October 19th, 2011 at a 6:00PM... It was beautiful! The area for the bride to prepare was perfect (a little warm - rcmnd a fan) for me and my brides maids. The weather was nice and cool but the sunset made it picture perfect. All it required was a $100 deposit wich is refundable upon your wedding date or you can donate it to them. Their website provides you with vendors and officiants. This made arranging our wedding even smoother. I thank our friends, Ana and Casey for telling us about this beautiful place that they were married at and sharing it with us.

The chapel and scenery are so beautiful! No decor was even needed. The only down fall is the size. This chapel is not meant for monster weddings with 200 guests. But it was perfect for our intimate wedding with family and friends. I love this place! This was by far the prettiest place even over chapels that costed thousands. It's so gorgeous and unique! Everyone that had a far drive even told us it was worth it. The pictures do not do this place justice!

What a BEAUTIFUL place. I fell in love with the photos online and I was blown away when I saw it in person. There's isn't much room for flexibility when booking but that was ok for us because we eloped. It's free, with a $100 refundable booking fee so how can you complain about that. The view is wonderful and the grounds are spectacular. The one issue I had is that there was construction right behind the chapel during the ceremony so all you can hear in the video is beeping and banging of tractors. That was really unfortunate but I don't remember it on the day as I was so wrapped up in the ceremony. The tradition of ringing the bell in the tower after your ceremony is finished is just wonderful!

Such a beautiful venue and of course, at a bargain price! We also rented the Tuscan Hall (just down the trail) for the reception which is not much of a bargain in price, but when you average the cost of the hall and chapel together, it still seems pretty fair. The breezes are great between the hall and chapel. Becke, one of the reps for both locations is professional and responsive. We were able to fit 70 people in and around the chapel and it worked perfectly, everyone could hear and see. And the Tuscan Hall accommodates groups of 70-80 perfectly! Any larger than 80 people at the wedding and you will have trouble seating everyone. The only difficult thing is since there are 3 weddings a day at the chapel, it is almost always in use, so a rehearsal was almost impossible. Even on the day of my wedding 1 1/2 hrs before my ceremony, someone was shooting bridals there. They were gracious and quickly left when we arrived. There is a bridal dressing room to get ready in which is pretty cute as well.

Chapel Dulcinea is an outdoor wedding chapel overlooking the hill country, so it's obviously beautiful. The bridal changing room was very pretty as well. And it's free, so that's a huge bonus. You pay $100 up front and can choose to donate that to the chapel the day of the wedding or pick your check up that day. We chose to donate the $100 and it's still a HUGE bargain. I was always a little worried our reservation would be canceled though, they didn't get back to me quickly or at all sometimes. However, they told me they were in the process of getting a new server, so maybe that was it. Overall certainly worth picking a random day and time to have the view. We loved it!

This place is BEAUTIFUL! On a budget? Great! This place is free. All you do is put a $100 deposit down and then on your wedding day you pick up the check for a $100. Now if you forget to pick it up then they keep the $100. The view is gorgeous and the bridal room is cute. It's great for family/friends who live out of town.

This is the perfect place for a small wedding. There is not a lot of seating so we had to rent chairs, but they made sure to set them up and arrange them in the best possible way for all of out guests. If you are not going to have a traditional reception they offer a cake and punch reception which they will also set up and break down for you.

This was a great wedding locale. Just beautiful.. and FREE!!!!* And of course it is booked far in advance. One needs to provide their own music but that was no problem with an Ipod and speakers.. or a violinist.. or whatever. *Let's talk cost. We walked out of the free venue about $1K poorer. Now I am NOT complaining. But if you want chairs, they will rent. A ride to the chapel in a covered golf cart? Charged rent. Now this is no problem at all.. just be aware that there may be some costs. And of course we did the cake reception which they did a beautiful job on - and that is where most of the money went. Would not have changed a thing. Others have mentioned the $100 deposit - we also donated ours to the facility. In closing - I can't imagine a better place to get married in Austin.

TINY, open-air Chapel South of Austin, situated on the edge of a cliff/ravine. It is a $100 deposit to reserve the Chapel, and you have the option of donating that money, or getting it refunded on the day of the ceremony. We got many compliments on the choice of venue for the ceremony.

Chapel Dulcinea is a perfect location for a low-key wedding. First off, it is completely FREE! Yes, free. They require a $100 deposit to hold the date and time, but will return the money when you arrive for your ceremony. You may also donate the money to the chapel (as I did) in gratitude of this lovely location. Although there is meaning behind each architectural design of the chapel (which you can read about in the books they sell in the Welcome Center), all I can really say is how spectacular it is. It was built on a cliff overlooking the pristine Texas Hill Country, and yet it blends beautifully with the landscape. It is a very small chapel, however, and will only work for very small ceremonies. If you choose to have your ceremony at night, the chapel is illuminated by gas lamps. There is also a century-old bronze bell inside the bell tower at the front of the chapel which brides and grooms can ring after saying their vows. The sound resonates through the valley and is so very romantic (not to mention a great photo opportunity). There is a bridal changing room at the Welcome Center that has a sink, several mirrors, outlets, toilet, and anything else you might need while getting ready. The people at the location are so easy to work with and will help you with absolutely anything. They only downside is lack of flexibility, but they really can't help that. You can't go over your allotted time because another couple might be showing up in a few hours. One last thing – they sell wine with a picture and the story of Chapel Dulcinea printed on the label which makes a great wedding favor for your guests. If you live in or around Austin, this place is perfect for small ceremonies. You won’t regret your decision to get married here!
