Videography was one of those things we knew we wanted in order to capture our nuptials in case our love-addled brains forgot all of the details in the throes of wedding day bliss, or a loved one was unable to join in the festivities. As we did our homework on Austin-based videographers, we were either gobsmacked by the cost of "wedding cinema" (movie-like editing with interesting angles) or horrified by the stuck-in-the-1980s fixed camera work replete with cheeseball soundtrack and italicized font titles. Just when we thought we would scrap videography altogether, I stumbled upon this terrific duo of uber-talented videographers known as Crooked Tie Studios. Don and James are two of the nicest, most chill guys who just happen to have mad amounts of talent and impeccable taste. They were consummate professionals throughout the planning process, and a lovely addition to the actual wedding day. I feared that our sweet, simple wedding would become Kardashian-ed because we had two videographers and two photographers. Somehow, Don and James managed to capture every single second of our day without ever being obtrusive. They also made a somewhat camera-shy bride and groom feel comfortable and relaxed. So relaxed, in fact, that said bride almost forgot to dismiss them from the room before donning her Spanx. Ahem. Fast forward a month and we are now the proud owners of a fantastic highlight reel with a full-length video on the way.
