Tara Welch is such an incredible photographer!!! When my husband and I were looking for photographers for our wedding we were really looking for someone who shared our sense of taste and style. We visited many photographers' websites and were blown away by Tara's aesthetic. She is just so talented and not at all generic. We absolutely loved our wedding pictures and our complimentary engagement session. Our family and friends were also so impressed with the quality and creativity Tara brought to our pictures. She's also incredibly sweet and puts everyone at ease during the whole process. Tara was our very favorite wedding vendor and we just cannot give her enough props. She is an artist and super nice and fun to be around to boot. Hiring Tara Welch was the best decision we made in the entire wedding planning process. She was incredibly professional and has her business model down to a T, but at the same time held an incredible sense of imagination and whimsy that led to unbelievably beautiful photos. My husband and I chose Tara to be our photographer for a post-wedding reception we had for 50 of our closest friends. Listen up ladies, Tara Welch is the best kept secret in DC wedding photography! I am so lucky I snatched her up when I did and I HIGHLY recommend her if you are in the dc metro area. In the overwhelming sea of photographers in this area it is easy to be confused about who to hire. Considering how many choices there are I am SO grateful I found Tara. Of all the vendors I hired for my wedding I am most happy about choosing her! Tara photographed my May wedding, as well as my engagement photos. Her work is stunning and I am so thrilled with the final product. The photos were exactly what I was hoping for and I have gotten many, many compliments on them from my relatives and friends. They are beautiful, artistic, and timeless. Yet, the pictures were not at all generic. She captured both the intensity of the love we felt and the happy, sometimes even silly spirit of our wedding day. From talking with them, that seems to be what my family and friends are so touched by and I have to agree . My hat is really off to her. As for her demeanor (and this is important) Tara is an absolute pro. She was always on time, reliable, relaxed and flexible. She managed to always be prepared yet able to go with the flow, in order to get the best shot. These qualities are so, so important in a wedding photographer - after all, they are the person who will be sharing some of the most intimate moments of your big day, more so than most of your friends and family. She kept me calm and cheerful, even when I was feeling jittery and nervous. Not to mention, Tara is the queen is special touches. At several different points throughout our year working together she made us cookies, sent us special gifts, I mean come on. Who doesn't love that? Her pricing is very reasonable and fit the tricky budget I had to work with. Considering how inflated DC prices can be that was a huge relief. After seeing our finished wedding photos we realized what an incredible value we had gotten. My husband and I have already talked about hiring her again in the future. She is an absolute gem. I hope she sticks around for a long time!

I came across Tara Welch Photography when I was searching for wedding vendors in Virginia. Tara was quick to respond and patient with my MANY pictures I sent in emails as "examples" of what I wanted. The pictures of us were the #1 most important aspect of our wedding to me. I wanted them to be perfect! She was incredibly flexible since my fiance was stationed overseas & we were not 100% sure when he would be home. Since she knew this she even reserved the following weekend for us just as a precaution just in case he was not here by our actual wedding date and we had to reschedule. Fortunatley, he did arrive on time and our wedding captured even better than I had imagined it would be. She made us both feel very at ease since we are not currently models (haha) and lacked the ability to know which direction to look and when. She took direction without being bossy or rude and made the whole experience FUN and enjoyable. She was excited about my own random ideas instead of intimidated by them. I have told everyone I know about Tara Welch Photography...even waitresses I have never met before. If you choose Tara- you have chosen to have the wedding pictures, service, and memories you've always wanted your wedding to have!

Tara was FANTASTIC! The pictures were gorgeous and she was so friendly and helpful. I recommend her to everyone, she really went above and beyond and completely exceeded my expectations!
