Scott was amazing! He was quick to respond to my original (and all other)emails and we met with him right away to see if it was a good match. After meeting with him, we didn\'t even need to meet with anyone else, we knew he was the right guy for us. Scott isn\'t into just marrying people, but seeing that they have a successful and loving marriage. He recommends books, gives advice, and keeps up with his couples after the wedding.\r\n\r\nAt the rehearsal he was fully prepared to lead the way. He brought a sheet that listed options for how to have the attendants walk down the aisle, and he took charge organizing. He also made sure to introduce him to everybody individually.\r\n\r\nAt the wedding he was also amazing. I thought I might pass out, so when I told him he went to my husband and they came up with a plan for if i did (thankfully I was fine). He reviewed the vows and practiced them with each of us. The ceremony was very nice and everybody loved how heartfelt he made it feel. Afterwards he even walked around with us and assisted the photographer by fixing my train and holding my bouquet when necessary.\r\n\r\nAll in all I was very happy with our choice to have Scott marry us. 5 stars all around!

I truly do not know where to begin regarding Scott...from our first meeting to our wedding day; the experience was nothing less than Phenomenal!!! Scott was not only professional, he was also personable. He made our wedding experience a true family affair. This is no small task as our family extends from the west coast to east coast with Texas and Georgia thrown in for fun. Both family and friends had nothing but positive things to say about Scott. Nothing can make your day better than marrying your best friend. Well, almost nothing. What CAN make it better is having the right people around you to make sure everything goes as smooth as possible. Scott Payne (the Knot Tyer) was one of those people for us. We could not have made a better choice than Mr. Payne. Starting from the first meeting to the wedding itself, Scott was gracious, helpful, entertaining, and, most importantly, genuine, about caring for our happiness. There are a few details that I remember, such as checking up on us during the day, calming us with well placed jokes, performing his duties better than we could have imagined, and once the ceremony was over, staying around to help us with pictures, and entertaining us with his legendary dancing skills!! I could not imagine our wedding without having Scott be our minister! It was THE perfect decision on a perfect day!

This is such an important part of your wedding and we couldn’t seem to find anybody that we both felt good about. That is until my wife stumbled upon Scott. From the moment we both spoke to him that was an immediate feeling of ease and comfort in how he expressed his desire to be at our wedding to ensure we had the best possible experience for our special day. Leading up to and even on our wedding day Mr. Payne would check in with us to ensure everything was going as planned and to give us an update on things he thought might be good to include in the ceremony and to see if we approved. He made it very clear that he was there for us and that anything we wanted him to say or not to say would be what he would do. We had a very clear understanding of how the ceremony would go because he sat us down and gave us a copy of the ceremony timeline during the rehearsal and asked us if everything was ok how he had it set up. On the day of the wedding he was not only our officiant but a true friend who helped all throughout the wedding. We weren’t sure what to expect with an Officiant. Scott put us at ease from the start. Before we could even think about what we wanted for our ceremony, Scott send us ample information, choices and even guidance of what we could do. My husband and I are very relaxed, like to have fun and really wanted to enjoy the ceremony (life for us is too short for us to be so formal). We wanted to ensure Scott could help us create that kind of feel for the ceremony. After our initial conversation, we were quickly put at ease. He was funny, easy to talk to and seemed to genuinely want to give us what we were looking for. After deciding what we wanted, Scott became the least of our worries on our wedding day (he does a great job of relaxing you). The ceremony turned out much better than expected, much funnier than expected (no fears for those that want something a bit more formal—this is what my husband and I wanted – I have no doubt Scott can create any type of feel you’d like). Even looking back at the video, what Scott did for us during our ceremony is the only thing about the wedding I wouldn’t have changed!

We initially considered Scott because he was in the area where we were wanting to get married but after our first phone conversation, we knew that he was the one! Scott was extremely flexible regarding meeting us in person and we immediately felt like we had known him for years. The thing that really meant the most to us was that Scott allowed us to design our wedding around US. He gave us information and resources but allowed us to create the ceremony of our dreams and put our "fingerprints" on every aspect of the day. He considered our colors and wedding style in what he wore and he really got to know us in a short amount of time so that he could truly capture our personality for the ceremony. We wanted an intimate wedding that was light hearted and fun but also respective of our Christian beliefs and heritage and we got that and so much more! Scott also became the melodic entertainment and comedic glue that kept the reception flowing and fun. I have recommended him to my friends and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a special, unique and memorable wedding. Scott is a professional who truly cares about people and goes above and beyond to make your dream wedding a reality. Yes, I can't say enough..... We have officially adopted Scott into our family and you will want to as well !!!

We got so lucky to stumble upon Scott's website while we were planning our wedding. We didn't have much time to plan, so we were so happy that he agreed to do it on such short notice! From the moment we met him he made us feel comfortable and at ease--wedding planning is stressful! He was interested to hear how we met, how we fell in love, which all goes to show that he is so involved in the ceremony, more than any officiant I had ever seen before. He gave us a really lovely gift, a really great book and a printed out ceremony for us to frame! He also kept in contact to the time leading up to the wedding, asking us how we were doing and if he could help with ANYTHING. And I know if I would have asked him to help with anything he would have! It goes without saying that he officiated our wedding SPECTACULARLY. He delivered our ceremony with such passion and also helped us feel comfortable when we were so nervous. All the guests LOVED him and were really enraptured (not bored like I've seen at some weddings). So we only paid him to be our officiant, but he stayed after to help with photos and to help move things along during the cocktail hour! The best part is next, during the reception he stuck around to talk with all the guests( a lot of the guests didn't know each other as they were from out of town). However, by the end of the reception you would think that they had known one another for years! This was solely down to Scott. He greeted everyone with his wonderful enthusiasm, he spoke to every single guest there and made everyone feel as comfortable as they would be in their own home! It didn't stop there, as the music continued... well so did Scott to the dance floor. This is where he really showed he was the life of the party! His Incredible dance skills along with his knack of generating a crowd round him wherever he goes ensured that many guests were on their feet, and having a really fun time. All in all, there's so much I could say about Scott, but just would not have the time! All we will say though is, BOOK HIM! A truly amazing person, with a heart full of joy, who just makes you feel so good every time you meet him. He was a major part of our day, and we could not imagine having anyone else as our officiant that day. Scott was great - he was exactly what my daughter wanted and what I needed. All you have to do is meet with him and you'll know exactly what I mean. He was an answer to prayer for us!

Our wedding was in 1998 and Scott officiated the wedding - however, he did more then just marry us. He was a great help in keeping us calm so we could really enjoy the ceremony. He was funny too ! Our guest really enjoyed the ceremony and the humor he brought and it was such a calming affect. One of the things that still gets talked about today (12 years later) from our guests - is that the DJ couldn't find the song we were supposed to walk down the isle to after we married - so after a brief moment, Scott told us to start walking and he starting singing (no music) and it was so amazing!! Our guests and us were so impressed!! It was totally unplanned and with his good voice and quick thinking it was better then what we had even planned. Again folks still talk about it to this day ! The other thing that made that moment special was it is a song that my Grandmother and I love and it's a song that is special to the both of us - she had even requested that that be played at our wedding (without Scott even knowing that). Once we decided to get married, we did not wait much, so we had a fast approaching date. The Knot Tyer was accomodating and worked with our schedule. We are glad he was there since our wedding was a little unusual and he filled a role of managing our guests as needed, so the word is flexibility. Everything went great and I heard good comments from our guest about TheKnotTyer.
